We are honored to be partners with Women Forward International in this worthwhile cause. ALAS DE AMOR or WINGS OF LOVE was launched in August 2023 in Veracruz, Mexico. Wings of Love is a food rescue project modeled after WPE’s “circle of giving” with a focus on women and girls. Worldwide, women and girls are most vulnerable to suffering from food insecurity. Statistics show that more than twenty million people experience food insecurity in Mexico.
Currently, a diverse group of civil society organizations work to address this significant problem. Despite their efforts, the efficiency, collaboration, and impact of Mexico’s food recovery programs can be significantly improved through more robust, volunteer and community-based initiatives that incorporate and coordinate public and private partnerships.
