VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
THAT UPLIFT LIVES
A core dynamic of the White Pony Express model is engaging people’s natural desire to be of service to others.
Hundreds of volunteers make White Pony Express possible. They volunteer with us because they believe in our mission and know they're helping neighbors with urgent needs.
VOLUNTEER ON-SITE
Clothing & Care
WPE's Clothing & Care Program promotes economic independence by providing high quality new and like-new clothing, books, toys, and emergency supplies. Clothing & Care is regularly contacted by agencies whose clients do not have basic necessities or are looking for on the job attire. We respond by setting up clothing closets, organizing drive-thru giveaways, and creating wardrobes for individual clients based on their preferences.

Food Rescue
Our Food Rescue Program addresses a problem that every food market faces: what to do with surplus fresh food. WPE picks up large quantities of high-quality surplus food from large distributors, supermarkets, restaurants, and farmers markets and delivers it to organizations that feed hungry people. Our deliveries are always free of charge and based on the specific preferences of the 80+ non-profit agencies we serve.

Food Rescue Hero Initiative
Our Food Rescue Hero Initiative Program (FRHI) is an entirely new collection and distribution system for smaller, more frequent donations that we have historically been unable to pick up due to our capacity limitations. Using the White Pony Express Food Rescue Hero App (think Uber for food rescue), food donors can signal when they have excess food and an available "on-demand driver" will pick up and deliver it directly to a matching food recipient organization. Email us to inquire about volunteering for this new program!
