Margaret Miller was 90 years old when White Pony Express was founded in 2013.
She thought it was a wonderful idea to share the abundance all around us and wanted to help. But Margaret was not physically able to drive or pick up and distribute rescued food. Nor could she make the kind of large outright financial gift she wished to. But Margaret could - and did - include White Pony Express in her estate plan with a generous bequest.
When she passed on in the spring of 2014, Margaret’s bequest gave a significant boost to expanding the work of White Pony Express, timed fortunately with the newly established General Store program of pop-up Mobile Boutiques.
Since then WPE has held scores of Boutiques and delivered millions of pounds of fresh food. Our challenge is no longer how to launch, but how to sustain the valuable work of White Pony Express programs.
You can help ensure the future of White Pony Express and sustain the work we do by joining the
Margaret Miller Society.
