Founder Dr. Carol Weyland Conner
White Pony Express is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, initiated by Dr. Carol Weyland Conner in September, 2013. She recalls, "When I discovered there are still people going hungry in our County, I also learned much nourishing food here goes to waste. So our local community has wholeheartedly joined together to locate this excess food and transport it to those in need. Building on this good start, we're working to expand this program to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry."
White Pony Express is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Many in our community cannot afford to feed themselves properly for temporary periods. Children, seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families often do not get enough nutritious food. For some, donated food can free them to pay rent and avoid becoming homeless.

We know there are many food service businesses that would be pleased to donate their excess food if there was a way to deliver it to people in need.

We've learned there are many food service organizations and shelters in our county that need more food to serve their clients, but none have enough staff to pick it up from donors.

White Pony Express identifies neighborhood programs in Contra Costa County that need food to feed the less fortunate. White Pony Express picks up the excess food from donors and delivers it quickly to these programs.

The Donor calls our Hotline with information about the donation. Learn more

It is important to note that all donors of food are protected from criminal and civil liability by state law when they donate food that is given free by a food service organization. Learn more
